Here’s what makes ArtWalk special

Lake Country hosts its 29th annual event featuring hundreds of artists

This weekend, two Lake Country schools are hosting over 200 artists and showcasing more than 1000 pieces of art from across the Okanagan.

To celebrate their theme of ‘Life in Full Bloom’, large flower décor was installed from the ceiling of the venue.

Guests flitted about the many pieces on display, such as paintings, sketches, photography, and more as artists were overjoyed to be able to showcase their work once again.

“I love ArtWalk, I’ve been doing this event for about 14 years,” artist Nikki Litowski told Kelowna10. “I’ve really missed the last few years not participating in it, so it’s good to be back.”

Many artists lamented the loss of the event during covid but were happy to be able to be back after the hiatus.

“It’s been good to get back out and have everybody come back in and congregate and see some art,” photographer Carl Stanley said.

The event takes place Sept 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at George Elliot Secondary, as well as H.S. Grenda Middle School, admission is $2.

Kelowna10 hit the streets at ArtWalk to see what artists love about the event.
