Why turn to the same old stores when you can find a unique and personal piece among a curated collection.

Sarah, from 104.7 The LIZARD, was on the hunt for a hidden treasure and found this unique vintage shop.

Scapegoat Vintage is just one of three throwback stores inside The Vintage Mall on Leon Avenue.

Owner Bree Kennedy started her vintage clothing journey when she was 19 years old and it has served her well.

She found the secret spots of the picking world back in Vancouver, where she's from, and has also made trips to Seattle and Texas, to bring back pieces to Kelowna.

“I have always loved dressing unique and being apart from the crowd. Secondly, sustainability. We all care about that right now fast fashion sucks, it’s gross,” she said. “Things were so much better made back in the day. Things in the 70s, 80s, and 90s were well built.”

With the nostalgia trend playing a big part in the culture today, Kennedy believes the younger generation is taking notice.

“There’s always a little element of nostalgia to vintage clothing. It’s dreamy, it’s romantic, it’s trying on a different era,” she said. “I think kids are a lot more aware of sustainability than we were back in the 90s.”
