Why this jellied pate dish will leave your guests stunned

A dish described as truly... "putrid"

The holidays are here, and what better time to knock the dust off those old cookbooks lying around the house and scrounge up some traditional recipes.

That's just what the culinary couple of Big Ginger, from 103.1 Beach Radio, and Roach, from 104.7 The Lizard, decided to do this year.

And what says holiday comfort food more than jellied pate!

This dish is a fusion of classic accoutrements: liver pate and everyone's favourite, beef gelatin.

Check out the video to see the talented chefs tackle this classic dish.

RECIPE:

  • 1/3 cup of water
  • 1 unflavoured gelatin packet
  • 1 8-ounce package of cream cheese
  • 1 tube of liver pate
  • 3 tbsp diced onion
  • 1 10.5-ounce can condensed beef consommé

METHOD:

  1. First, mix one packet of unflavoured gelatin into a third of a cup of water.
  2. Then, heat up one can of consommé, and add it to your gelatin.
  3. Combine cream cheese, liver pate, and diced onion until fully incorporated.
  4. Spoon dollops of your pate mixture into the gelatin, and refrigerate until firm.

Enjoy!
