Welcome to the Heritage Retirement Residence, where Friday Happy Hour is more than just a gathering — it's an experience that brings joy, companionship, and a dash of entertainment to residents.

Each Friday afternoon, residents are invited to gather on a sun-soaked outdoor patio in the summer or a cozy space in the winter, to celebrate the end to the week.

The occasions are filled with dancing, live music, and food and drinks.

“I think it is so important because it gives our residents something to look forward to during the week, an opportunity to build those connections and relationships,” Haley, the community relations assistant manager, explained. “It also helps them feel less lonely and together.”

A frequent attendee of Happy Hour is Heritage Retirement resident Gwen, who is often energizing the crowd to clap and sing along.

"Companionship," she said of what draws her out each week. "And, of course, the wonderful entertainers we get. What’s not to enjoy!”

Although her knees no longer allow her to take to the dance floor, she can still groove to the rhythm when the moment strikes.
