WATCH: This man has spent a lifetime doing great renovations

Three decades of home fixes while bolstering a reputation

For over thirty years, Gord Turner has been doing amazing renovations while doing much to enhance the reputation of his industry.

Over the weekend his dedication to quality workmanship and helping to improve and develop all those who work around him was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 Okanagan Home Builders Awards.

Speaking about the honour to Beach Radio’s Toby Tannas, Turner credited the people he’s had the chance to work with and for.

“It’s about all those people I’ve aligned myself with, who’ve come on our team, the great clients we’ve had,” he said. “It’s so nice to be acknowledged for doing the right thing. I’ve always wanted to make it a better industry and give people a better experience.

“I’m just straight with people. I don’t sugar coat them, I don’t make promises we can’t keep. I think we offer tremendous value,” Turner said, admitting that the projects they take on can be expensive, especially in these times, but people trust his company to work in their homes.

According to the Canadian Home Builders’ Association, by educating clients, and by hiring quality character employees and training them, Turner has been an exception in an industry that often gets a bad reputation.

Over the years Gord Turner Renovations has won 14 local housing awards, and numerous ‘Best of the Okanagan’ awards.
