The Whistle Dog is back and Roach has a review
Has the cult-classic withstood the taste test of time?
An iconic menu item is back by popular demand at a well-known food chain.
Hot dog connoisseurs will be pleased to know the Whistle Dog has returned to A&W.
It found its way back to the menu on July 25, so Roach from 104.7 The Lizard, decided to hit up a local branch and indulge in the decadent dog.
Inside a toasted bun is a perfectly split wiener with bacon and cheese stuffed inside, and topped with relish.
The hot dog is part of a partnership the chain has with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to a company media release.
To celebrate its return, the burger spot will be releasing a documentary called 'Bring Back the Whistle Dog,' on Aug. 12. The film will follow the cult menu item and the devoted fans who went to extremes to see it back on the menu.
