One of Kelowna’s most tranquil spots is ready to open

Stroll through the traditional elements of a Japanese garden

Kasugai Gardens in downtown Kelowna is ready to open for the season.

The park will open on March 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until May long weekend.

Throughout the summer, the gardens will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Labour Day weekend, when the gardens will close at 5 p.m. It will officially close for the season on October 31.

Kasugai Gardens provides a tranquil environment featuring traditional elements of a Japanese garden such as stone lanterns, pine trees, a waterfall and a pond.

The gardens were completed in 1987 to symbolize the friendship between Kelowna and Kasugai, Japan, sister cities since 1981.
