WATCH: Kelowna comedians coming together for a good cause

Comedy show helping charitable organization.

Everyone likes a good laugh. So why not laugh while helping a good cause.

Peach Social is presenting Comedy for a Cause Friday at Dakota’s Sports Bar & Grill, featuring performances from local comedians. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Mamas for Mamas.

Kelowna comic and host, Teddy Hillary, told Kelowna10, she was eager to be a part of the event because it is women supporting women, something she’s happy to get behind.

“I really want people to leave their problems at the door, have a good time, and raise some money for a really good cause here in our community,” she said.

Hillary got her start on stage through her father, who was a stand-up comic himself. She’s been around comedy clubs since her teenage years.

Her act focuses on self-deprecating humour, relationships, addiction, and general observations about the world around her.

Mamas for Mamas is a national charitable organization that supports mothers and caregivers in crisis, with ongoing support to families and individuals facing different poverty related struggles.

Taking the stage Friday alongside Hillary are Caleb Campbell, Velina Taskov, Kyle P. Ferris, Evan Riley, and Sarah Dawn.

Tickets can be bought online.
