How interior design is no longer just for the rich

This homeowner transformed her interior at no cost.

Designing the perfect interior for your home can be stressful.

Finding the right furniture, what colours to use, and what’s trending, can also be an expensive process.

Some interior designers can cost up to $5,000. There are other online options that are more affordable, but they can also run over $1,000.

Toby from 103.1 Beach Radio heard from a local woman who got some design help.

“It’s pretty daunting, and intimidating trying to put a room together yourself,” homeowner Heather Gordon-Swallow said.

Her living room, bedroom, and dining room were all done with the help of a professional interior designer.

“Designing a room or anything in your house is not for the elite. The designer will work with you in terms of the cost, they will work within your budget,” she explained.

Heather said she felt very confident using a designer and has a message for those who are considering hiring one.

“Go for it, your time is valuable, let the designer do it from A to Z,” she said.

La-Z-Boy helped redesign parts of her home.
