WATCH: How a bunch of flowers for mom can help rescue dogs

Local organization brings back spring event but you need to get going

Paws it Forward Dog Rescue is running their second annual Petals for Paws spring plant event.

The aim is to raise more funds to help many rescue dogs in the Okanagan.

Basically, you buy a plant online through the organization - that puts a smile on mom's face come Mother's Day while putting a little extra wag in pooch's tail.

The last day to order a plant is Thursday, April 21.

Volunteer Bobby-Jo Brown spoke with Sarah Nick from 104.7 The Lizard.

“All our proceeds go directly to the dogs, nobody gets paid. So, anything that we sell and make money off goes directly to food, vet care, leashes that kind of stuff,” she said.

Brown said the online fundraiser is popular.

“We are selling flowers for pets and basically, Mother’s Day. Because Mother’s Day is on the Sunday May 8, pick up will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday,” she said.

All orders are due by Thursday, April 21, with plant pick up May 5, 6, 7.
