Check out what the next airport hotel could look like

Third hotel would boast 200 rooms

Plans have been resurrected for a third hotel across from Kelowna International Airport.

Argus Properties has submitted designs to city hall for a 200-suite Courtyard by Marriot on Fleet Court.

The project was initially brought forward in 2019 but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It proposed 160 rooms.

“Additional hotel rooms reduce reliance on Air B&B rentals, potentially freeing up short term rentals as opportunity for longer term rentals thereby supporting local housing challenges,” the proposal reads.

If approved by lawmakers, the hotel will be six-stories and include a ground floor fitness room, as well as food and drink options.

The hotel would add to the Kelowna-based developer’s airport hotel campus. Argus was behind the 140-room Hampton Inn & Suites, and 120-room Four Points by Sheraton.
