It has started: the Kelowna landscape is bursting with yellow and pretty soon there will be entire fields and mountains covered in it.

No, Big Ginger from 104.7 The Lizard isn't insulting you. That's the formal name of the species that is native to the area and is the city's official flower.

Like many people when they first arrived in Kelowna, Big G was once curious about the blooms that spring out of nowhere this time of year.
