Check out this duet for Brian Wilson as he cancels Rock The Lake performance

Some disappointing news with a week to go to Rock The Lake.

Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson has been forced to cancel his performance on the night of Sunday, Aug. 7, due to ill health.

He’s being replaced by Nazareth.

Prospera Place said Wilson would not be performing due to unforeseen health reasons.

“Brian is bummed to miss this show but looks forward to seeing his fans on the road again”, Wilson’s management team said in a statement Friday morning. “We wish Brian all the best in his health and recovery.”

The three-day classic rock festival starts Friday, Aug. 5, and runs through Aug.7.

Nazareth brings the curtain down on the event that also features The Tea Party, A Flock of Seagulls, Trooper, Chilliwack, Moist, Eve 6, Big Naked, The Motels, Carole Pope & Rough Trade, The Kings, The Grapes of Wrath, Five Man Electrical Band, and The Spoons.

Kelowna radio stations 104.7 The Lizard and 103.1 Beach Radio are the presenting sponsors.

Ryan, from The Lizard’s morning show, teamed up with musical friend Sherry Dahl, who regularly tickles the ivories at the Parkinson Senior Society, to play something special from Brian Wilson.
