This West Kelowna jewelry will walk the runway in Paris

Mom and daughter business reaching beyond Kelowna.

Donna and Danielle Scheven have had no shortage of success with their West Kelowna-based jewelry company Carolily Finery.

Their products have been featured in high-end fashion magazines like Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Glamour.

But in October, the pair will mark another milestone, with their jewelry set to be modeled at Paris Fashion Week 2023.

And while the mother-daughter duo is no stranger to the runway, with their pieces shown at New York Fashion Week, they admit the French capital is another level.

“Paris just feels like a whole different ball game,” Danielle told Kelowna10. “It’s really going to set us up internationally and we’re just so grateful and so excited for the opportunity.”

“For me, I’m thrilled because I have total creative freedom for what pieces I’m going to be making,” Donna said. “I’m making eight sets for the creative designer and she’s going to match it with a fashion designer.”

She said what she and her mother have created over the last seven years - what they call spreading the Carolily love to women over 50 – has had a positive effect on their customers.

“That’s a demographic that’s largely been forgotten by the fashion industry. We’re brought to happy tears so often. We received an email from a regular client of ours and just the joy that our jewelry brings to them is amazing,” Danielle explained.

“We get so many emails like that and being able to share that love with them in Canada is amazing, but we think women all around the world deserve to feel love, seen and represented.”

They hope the Paris Fashion Week debut will help extend the Carolily love around the world, and help women over 50 feel love, be seen and feel appreciated by the fashion industry.
