Location touts focus on ‘unconventional sports’
Comfortable but unconventional is the name of the game at Kelowna's newest eatery.
Pretty Not Bad (PNB), formerly Bad Tattoo Pizzeria & Brewery, has officially completed it's rebrand.
The location at 740 Clement Avenue was purchased by the Salt & Brick Group in January 2023.
This new venue offers a focus on sports, a culinary experience, and culture.
“As we built this brand, unconventional sports has been what we've kind of called it,” managing partner James Addington told Kelowna10. "We wanted to be a sports hub, but a restaurant as well. Really, a place that you can come feel comfortable, show up as you are, eat some food, drink some beverages and maybe catch a game or not.”
The venue boasts an impressive array of large HD screens strategically positioned to ensure optimal viewing angles for every seat in the house, including the patio.
Whether it's football, futbol, basketball, hockey, or any other sporting event, guests are provided with many options to view what they please.
PNB’s menu follows suit with other restaurants that fall under the Salt & Brick Group, having a predominant focus on sharing.
“Share a full rack of ribs, share a barbecue platter, have chicken, always a pizza or two in there as well, and then some handhelds or main dishes for you, too.”
Addington said above all else he wants his restaurant to be welcoming, placing a great importance on mental health.
Hence the name ‘Pretty Not Bad’, a common phrase used when people feel a bit more dour than usual, but don’t want to express it.
“The biggest thing I want is for people to feel comfortable when they arrive.” He said. “We want people to maybe relax a little more than they were from their day or into their night.”
