It celebrates more than 50 years of musical influence
Hunky Dory is David Bowie’s fourth studio album, and this week is it’s 51st anniversary.
Ryan from 104.7 The Lizard busted out his guitar to play ‘Andy Warhol,’ one of three tribute songs celebrating American icons on the record.
It is an album that defined an icon and kicked off the glam rock era of the 1970’s.
Many have said Hunky Dory is when ‘Bowie starts to become Bowie,’ helping him develop his iconic sound and style, and beginning his artistic success.
This marked the time Bowie shifted his music from hard rock to more art pop and melodic pop rock.
Many artists throughout the years have credited the album as a major early influence and inspiration on their career.
