Stunning spot has come onto the market
It’s arguably the most unique piece of lake front property to hit the market in Kelowna.
Nestled along Lakeshore Drive, across the street from Cedar Creek Winery, is a chunk of land drawing eyes from across the nation.
Just 16 feet wide at its narrowest, the 368-foot-long property hit the market on April 4 to immediate intrigue.
Toby, from 103.1 Beach Radio, met with Tamara and Shannon Stone, of Stone Sisters/ReMax Realty, to learn more about the listing that doesn’t even have an address - it’s simply known as West of Lakeshore Road.
“It really is a sliver of paradise right on Okanagan Lake,” Shannon told Toby. “It’s a great setting on the beautiful waterfront.”
The tiny plot of land currently houses a small, recently updated cabin with a kitchenette, running water, and a loft with a patio, but no washroom. There is also a small outbuilding for storage and a non-conforming dock.
Access to the land comes via a steep hill that leads down to the lake.
And despite the fact any major construction on the parcel would be difficult, the sisters said it’s piqued the interest of people in the market for an affordable chunk of the lakeshore.
“We’ve had a lot of inquires from people out of town who want to own a piece of Okanagan paradise,” Shannon said. “They want access to the lake easily.”
With a barbeque, a bed, and a winery across the road, it’s the perfect recreational property, Shannon said.
Not only that, but the future owners will possess a slice of rich Okanagan history.
The land is owned by the Dunlop family, one of Kelowna’s oldest. The elder Dunlop once owned a large portion of the surrounding area in the 1930s.
As he decided to subdivide, he kept four fingers of land for his children. The land was passed down and is now the last of the four pieces of the family’s original parcel.
“It’s the only one like this,” Tamara said.
And it can be yours for just over $1 million, a bargain compared to other lake front land., which can carry price tags in the multi-millions.
