These tips will ensure your spring vacation is a success

Spring Travel show offers bounty of information for holidays

Kelowna has caught the travel bug.

And there is no better treatment than jetting off to a tropical beach or far away land to recharge.

People looking to do just that lined up by the dozens to talk to exhibitors at the YLW Spring Travel Show.

The upper floor of the KF Centre for Excellence was filled with booths hosted by airlines, travel agencies, and local vacation hotspots.

“We've just come out of winter, so everybody wants to get to the sunshine,” Expedia Cruises manager Cheryl Rosborough told Kelowna10. “I think that's the biggest appeal of traveling right now.”

With spring break upcoming for those with children, it’s the perfect opportunity to go on a vacation.

Though Rosborough said to be sure you remember the things that are most commonly overlooked while vacationing.

While it might seem simple, getting to the airport early has never been more important given the large volume of people travelling.

Checking for necessary documentation or specific entry requirements for your destination is key. Some places still require a proof of COVID-19 vaccination, despite Canada dropping the need for proof.

Planning is key to a successful holiday, and she even suggests booking some time in advance; a decision that can be easy on the mind as well as the wallet.

“You also can get into a bit of a shoulder season here, where you can save a bit of money on the air flights,” she explained. “Booking in advance is really important. You get the best deal, and everybody wants to get somewhere where they can lay on a beach.”

Checking in on travel insurance can bring peace of mind should something go wrong.
