These simple tapping techniques can drastically reduce stress

The easy practice can have a profound result on how you feel

Have you heard of tapping?

It's a technique that can help shift your energy to a more positive place.

Kelowna-based Tapping Practitioner, Jenny McKinney, leads clients from all over the world in this practice.

McKinney said tapping is a form of energy psychology. More simply, it's been called acupressure for the emotions.

"It is an easy practice that has a profound result on how you feel, where you direct your energy, and even the chemicals in your body," she said, adding just one hour of tapping can reduce cortisol - the stress hormone - by as much as 43 per cent.

McKinney starts each session by having clients acknowledge the feelings that aren’t comfortable - and then works towards cultivating positive emotions through mantras, all while tapping on specific acupressure points.

Clients use tapping to help overcome negative feelings, change unwanted habits and behaviours and to enhance and elevate joy.

In January, McKinney said her clients are often faced with mounting stress and anxiety over weight, relationships, money, and the dampness and darkness of winter.
