Blues-rock covers album
Ryan from 104. 7 The LIZARD caught up with one half of the The Black Keys duo, drummer Patrick Carney.
Carney and Dan Auerbach (guitar and vocals) released their latest album PEACHES! on May 1.
They're also on tour with stops in Vancouver (May 31), Edmonton (June 3), and Calgary (June 5/6).
The new record features a rundown of covers including hit single "You Got To Lose" , which Auerbach was inspired to record after he heard the 1977 George Thorogood version.
The song was written by none other than Ike Turner, with whom producer Danger Mouse worked on a project in 2007. The Black Keys were invited to play on that Turner album but it was never completed. But much of what the band wrote then became the basis for their fifth studio album, Attack & Release back in 2008, produced by Danger Mouse .
Their new album, PEACHES! is packed with awesome covers.
The band heads out on their Peaches 'n Kream World Tour soon that'll include stops in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.
