Street hockey takes over downtown

Hockey Night in Canada event returns

Coming together to celebrate a love for hockey, street style.

Play On! by Hockey Night in Canada brings festivals to cities across the country from July to October.

Calgary kicked things off as the first city in the summer, and Kelowna was the final stop for the season on a warm and sunny weekend, where hundreds of players gathered to compete.

The tournament was open to all skill levels and ages so there was fun for everyone.

Multiple rinks were set up on Water St. in front of Prospera Place, with food trucks and booths in the parking lot and near the dolphin fountain.

People from all over were taking part, including lots of locals, and some from other parts of B.C. as well.

Kelowna10 hit the streets to hear what players had to say.

Be sure to check out the video to see all the action.
