Gardening passion leads to beekeeping
At the Rose Hill Orchard in Lake Country, there is a hidden gem buzzing with life: Blossom Beeworks, founded by nature lover, Amanda Armstrong.
Her passion for gardening introduced her to the world of beneficial insects, which ultimately led to her starting beekeeping five years ago.
"I just want to share my love of bees with people," she told Sarah Nick from 104.7 The LIZARD. " There's so much to learn from bees and they connect us to where our food comes from, connects us to the weather, connects us to nature, and they give us honey. They're the only thing, the only insect that we get food from."
With her beekeeping operation, Armstrong offers guided tours around the orchard where she teaches guests about where bees source their food, and what they collect. The tour finishes with an up-close visit to the hives to get a view inside the bee colonies.
Sarah went out to the hives to check it out.
