Ryan riffs on these Southern rock legends

Half a century since band released first album

It's been 50 years since Lynyrd Skynyrd released their debut album, (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd), and Ryan from 104.7 The LIZARD is remembering that milestone in style.

The band would go on to release five studio albums and one live release as they became icons of the Southern rock genre.

Tragedy struck in a 1977 plane crash when lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and backup singer Cassie Gaines were killed and the rest of the band seriously injured.

Most remember Lynyrd Skynyrd for their track, Sweet Home Alabama, produced in response to Neil Young's Southern Man.

But Ryan, who's accompanied by Brenden for this duo, brings you another special song from their very first album half a century ago.
