Ever mountain bike at Big White? We gave it a try.

Awesome trails welcome seasoned riders and beginners

Although the snow has melted at Big White Ski Resort, the fun is far from over. Even without the winter slopes, the resort offers a plethora of exciting activities.

The mountain biking trails continue to attract familiar riders while also aiming to draw in new enthusiasts this year...and that includes Ryan from 104.7 The LIZARD.

Andrew Daly, Sales Director at Big White, spoke with Ryan about some misconceptions surrounding first-time mountain bikers.

“People are quite intimidated by taking that first step. But we're here, our team's here in the bike school and in the rental shop, to get you all sorted and learn with somebody who knows what they're doing,” he said.

“They'll teach you the ropes. And we've got plenty of beginner trails for you to ride. So, it's not going to be too daunting... and you'll have a good time.”

He added the resort was able to remain operational during the COVID-19 pandemic since its activities take place outdoors and can be enjoyed individually. He wants to continue expanding and promoting the sport at the hill.

“We saw quite a lot of volume during those COVID years. We're just spreading the word and trying to build some more trails,” Daly said. “If you build it, they will come.”
