The first installment of a huge body of new work is now available.
It’s a rock album so many fans have been waiting for and it dropped Tuesday.
Smashing Pumpkins have released the first chunk of Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts.
Ryan, from 104.7 The Lizard, is celebrating this big release and is eager to hear what Billy Corgan and the band have come up with after two years in the recording studio.
The album – the twelfth studio record by the American band – will have three installments, each featuring 11 songs.
The first installment - Atum: Act One – is on store shelves now.
Atum: Act Two is set for release on January 31, and Atum: Act Three is scheduled for an April 23, release.
You could also wait until April for the complete box set of 33 songs along with 10 additional exclusive tracks. But Smashing Pumpkin fans might find it tough to wait that long for their first taste of the new offering.
What’s so neat about the new album is it’s the long-awaited sequel promised by Corgan to the hit albums Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and Machina/The Machines of God.
