Rock The Lake final preparations underway

Parking lot at Prospera Place is being transformed

The fencing is up, the tents and stage are being assembled, and there’s an expectant buzz in the air.

Final preparations are underway at Prospera Place for Rock The Lake this coming weekend.

Presenting sponsors 103.1 Beach Radio and 104.7 The Lizard are ready to bring back the classic rock festival everyone is chomping at the bit for.

“Friday, this is all going to transform into an incredible event,” Terry Armstrong from Prospera Place told Ara from 103.1 Beach Radio during a walkaround the site. “People will be flowing in here with their lawn chairs and it’ll convert to the big party of the summer.”

The doors open 3:30 p.m. Friday, with four bands wowing the audience before British '80s synth band, Flock of Seagulls, headline at 8:45 p.m.

Saturday’s offerings start at 2 p.m. and include Bif Naked at 4 p.m., with the nighttime star outfit The Tea Party at 8:20 p.m.

Then, on Sunday, another five acts make their mark, with a trio of Canadian greats to bring things to a head: Chilliwack, Trooper, and Nazareth.

The full line-up over the weekend also includes Moist, Eve 6, The Motels, Carole Pope & Rough Trade, The Kings, The Grapes of Wrath, Five Man Electrical Band, and The Spoons.

Of course, while the stage is the centre of attention, there will be some very exciting support acts such as the Beach Radio and The Lizard VIP tent, and the 2022 Ford Bronco® Big Bend™ Sasquatch™.

The keys to this awesome vehicle will be handed over during the event Sunday.
