Regan vs. Rockets: Dylan Wightman

If Happy Gilmore can do it, why can't we?

In a new series, Regan vs. Rockets, RocketFAN.ca’s Regan Bartel has some casual chats with past and current players of the Kelowna Rockets.

This week, he spoke with current Rocket forward, Dylan Wightman.

The two swung by the iconic Scandia to take on the putt-putt challenge Happy Gilmore style.

Regan: What is it like to be a locally born player from Kelowna?

Dylan: It's awesome. I was a huge Rockets fan growing up. I went to almost every game. It's cool to be living my dream out now. Being an older player, you really appreciate that now.

R: So mom and dad get a chance to watch you every game? Is that a lot of preasure?

D: I am kind of used to it now.

R: Final year in the WHL?

D: Mixed emotions. Right now it is kind of excitement. A full year head of us. It is going to be an exciting year for us and there is a lot of excitement going into it, but knowing it is the last one, we really want to make sure to enjoy it.

R: New team mates, too?

D: Yeah. That is always fun. I've talked to some of them now, and I am eager to get on the ice with them and see what we can do.

R: Now, is it better to beat the broadcaster or the Kamloops Blazers?

D: Oh. don't like those guys. I think we go with the Blazers.
