Similar robberies took place between Osoyoos, Lake Country over past three weeks
Several RCMP detachments are investigating a string of robberies across the Okanagan believed to be connected to one man.
The crimes took place over the past three weeks at locations stretching from Osoyoos to Lake Country.
Officers describe the man as being Caucasian, 30 to 40 years old, and between five-foot-eight and five-foot-ten.
He has dark hair and a receding hairline, as well as a tattoo on his right hand and sleeve on his left arm, with red ink.
According to a media release, the first incident took place on Oct. 18, just after 9:10 p.m. Officers were called for a robbery with a firearm at a business on Main St. in Osoyoos. A man entered, allegedly threatened the employee, and demanded money. The man ran away with some cash and items from the store.
Similar robberies took place on Oct. 24 in West Kelowna, Oct. 25 in Oliver and along Highway 97 in Lake Country, and most recently on Nov. 4 in Peachland. Police believe the same man was involved in each.
“The threats of violence are very concerning in these incidents and luckily there were no injuries to anyone involved,” Media Relations Officer for the Kelowna Regional RCMP Cst. Solana Paré was quoted in a media release.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
