Tour ‘brings light and happiness’ for weekend event
It’s a kaleidoscope of crystals, tarot cards and tea leaves as the Coast Capri Hotel plays host to a touring group of psychics, mediums, clairvoyants, astrologers, numerologists and healers. There’s even an aura photographer.
The Galaxy Psychic Fair, which got underway Friday afternoon, runs through Sunday with organizers promising to answer questions and help visitors understand their past and prepare them to act on their future.
“Everybody who comes to see us is open-minded,” event coordinator Mira Royz told Kelowna10. “They’re looking for some answers or even just to talk to somebody.”
There was little doubt about the demand and interest in the various offerings from the 21 vendors who have travelled from across Canada. Over 80 people were lined up when the doors opened Friday afternoon.
“These are talented, gifted people. They do see more,” Royz explained about the vendors, noting 99 per cent of visitors leave feeling better having spoken to one of them.
He added the fair is also an opportunity for people who may not necessarily fit in with society to earn a fair living offering their services.
“We want to make sure everyone feels welcome; everyone has a home and can exercise their gift,” he said.
For one of the vendors, Alara Serait, who lives on Kalamalka Lake, this is an opportunity to spread the word about psychic culture.
“In the past, maybe people were a little afraid of it … but it’s becoming more and more accepted. These [vendors] are here to help.”
Serait uses what she calls magic astrology dice and Lenormand cards. She calls herself a mystic but says she’s been called an oracle and a channel as well. Part of her services include looking into past lives.
“We can get some clear answers. If something came up in a past lifetime, we can definitely address that in this lifetime, and start to do healing work,” she said.
The psychic fair runs until 10 p.m. Friday night, 11 a.m. till 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
