Proposed new towers would add over 1,000 units downtown

New design second part of Waterscapes project

Four new condo towers proposed for downtown Kelowna would bring over 1,000 new units online.

An application has been filed with the city to rezone land along Ellis Street and Industrial Avenue, north of the ONE Water Street development.

The project is the second phase of Vancouver’s Ledingham McAllister Waterscapes project. The first phase runs along Sunset Drive. Few details are contained inside the plans submitted to the city.

According to the submitted plans, the four new buildings would climb 28, 32, 34, and 36 floors into the sky, the latter matching the height of the current tallest tower in Kelowna.

The buildings will house 1,116 units, mainly one- and two-bedroom suites, alongside 27 townhomes.

There will be five levels of above-ground parking at the base of each tower.

The plans include a water feature at the base of one of the towers, including a water wall, public art, and a shallow pond.

There is no timeline for when the project could move forward.
