Toby gets some tips on packing for travel
More and more people are opting to only use carry on luggage when it travelling.
But packing for more than a few days can be daunting if you don’t have the right approach.
Enter Leesa Beeson, a retired flight attendant and owner of an online travel essentials company.
She shared packing tips with Toby from 103.1 Beach Radio, who is determined to travel to NYC for a week with just a carry on.
It all starts with a personal bag that contains everything you need on the flight - that includes your liquids, aerosols and gels (LAG), which cannot contain more than 100 ml.
These items will be stowed at your feet. In a perfect world, this bag can slide onto the handle of your carry on suitcase.
The carry on itself goes into the overhead compartment.
Packing cubes are essential to keep everything sorted.Your travel capsule wardrobe should include bottoms, multiple tops - both casual and dressy - as well as evening items.
The goal is to include only items that can be interchanged. Don’t forget accessories like scarves, a hat and jewellery.
Then, it’s time to get rolling … literally.
Leesa managed to get 10 outfits into three cubes, worn twice over a vacation, equating to 20 outfits!
There was even space to spare - because everyone likes to do a little holiday shopping!
