The unique evening affair under the lights is back
Catching a power day under a bluebird sky is an unparalleled experience, so there is always a bit of disappointment when the sun starts to set, and the hum of the chair lift falls silent on the hill.
But at Big White Ski Resort, the day doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down.
Back for the 2022/23 season, night skiing sees the lights go on at the Bullet Express and Plaza Chair, opening up a bounty of runs for the fun to keep on going.
“It’s just a really good way for newcomers, or even if you are an experienced person, to have a unique experience on the hill,” sales director at Big White Andrew Daly told Kelowna10.
“It heightens all your senses. You hear the lift churning; you hear the shushing of snow as people are skiing and snowboarding down. It’s hard to explain until you actually get out there and experience it!”
With a night lift capacity of over 3,000 people per hour, the Plaza and Bullet chairs whisk skiers to the top of the longest vertical drop of all night skiing areas in North America.
The experience is available Tuesday thru Saturday, weather dependent, from 3:30 p.m.to 8 p.m. The TELUS Park is illuminated on Fridays and Saturdays during these times.
Watch as Ryan and Sarah, from 104.7 The Lizard, strapped on their board and skis and hit the slopes to take in the evening affair.
