Witnesses told Kelowna10 they heard a small explosion before flames started to shoot from the home.
Four people are out of home after a fire sparked up on the outskirts of downtown Kelowna Tuesday morning.
Flames engulfed the rear of a home on Fuller Ave. at around 8 a.m.
It spewed large, black plumes of smoke high into the sky above the city.
Twenty firefighters raced to the scene, knocking down the flames from the outside and mopping up the fire from within.
Witnesses told Kelowna10 they heard a small explosion before the fire started.
The fire department said the cause is under investigation, but not considered suspicious. No one was injured.
