Meet Kelowna's top young sommelier!

Putting his skillset on display

If you have had any wine tasting experience at Arrowleaf Cellars in Lake Country and Mission Hill Family Estate Winery in West Kelowna, you may have had a young 20-year-old named Maxwell Brayer as your guide.

Most recently, he won the Chaine des Rotisseurs National Competition in Calgary where he was crowned Canada's new 'top young sommelier.'

Now he's off to the 2024 International Young Sommeliers Competition in Lisbon, Portugal, Oct. 18-19.

Leslie from OV 103.9 headed out to Mission Hill Winery to talk about what led to his career in wine, and how he prepares for his upcoming competition.
