Candidate says 'peace tourism' is needed
For one fringe Kelowna mayoral candidate, the campaign is not about scoring political points or going on the attack.
While the race is ultimately likely to be between incumbent Colin Basran and main challenger Tom Dyas, for Silverado Socrates, the community needs to be more at peace with each other.
At one point during Tuesday’s mayoral forum, Socrates, who admits to having been homeless herself in the past, offered the audience a song.
She also spoke of the need for what she termed ‘peace tourism’ in Kelowna, that’s not about dollars but educating and healing people.
“Our government should not be so much about money but the care of the people,” she said. “If we do this a lot of the things will look after themselves.”
Check out the video for her song.
