Marking 50 years since Aerosmith's debut album

One track has stood the test of time

It was Jan. 5, 1973, when Aerosmith released their debut self-titled album with Columbia Records.

The band was scared as hell going into the recording studio in October of 1972.

In his autobiography, Steven Tyler reflected on how “uptight” the band was when recording the album and how nerves really came into play.

The album came out the exact same day as Bruce Springsteen’s debut album, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.

Columbia Records poured all it resources into that debut, overshadowing Aerosmith's work.

And so while the album didn’t exactly flop, it took another couple of years, another two albums, before Aerosmith went into the stratosphere.

Among the track list from the debut album, there is one song that stands out and stood the test out time.

Watch the video as Ryan, from 104.7 The Lizard, channels the psychedelic vibes of the '70s, and brings us an iconic riff from the legendary track, Dream On.
