Mannequin madness at military museum

Can you solve the clues and save the world from a mannequin army?

  • Escape room experience at Okanagan Military Museum
  • Bubbles of 4 people
  • One hour time limit to complete the mystery

Dr. Mann E. Quinn has used genetics to create a mannequin army.

They are going to take over the Okanagan Military Museum and then – the world!

Thankfully, you have an hour to save the world as part of an exit room experience at the museum.

“As our visitors go through different clues around the museum, they’re going to see the museum exhibits with a different eye,” Jen Garner, Head of Programming at Kelowna Museums told Kelowna10. “Its’s just a totally different way to experience the museum.”

Guests must discover the antidote to Dr. Mann E. Quinn’s genetic serum.

For the past few months, people have been able to bring a group of up to four friends and register for the Escape from Mannequin Madness hour-long exit room.

Garner said it’s a great experience for families and friends to work together in a safe environment to create lasting memories.

“We know that the past couple years have been really tough, and people are really searching for safe experiences … a place where they can create those memories in this pandemic.”

The escape room was created by a group of people in the education department at Kelowna Museums and the Okanagan Military Museum. The team did a handful of virtual escape rooms to figure out how to craft their own style.

“We’re not actually trapping anybody in the museum, so [we wanted to] broaden the mind a little of what escape room means,” Garner said. “We have a scenario, and you must solve the problem.”

Although the last day to register is Nov. 25, the popularity of the event means it’ll be back in January.
