Looking to buy a home? Here’s the first thing you should do

Why a mortgage broker might be right for you

Buying a home can be an exciting and stressful time, especially when it comes to finding the right mortgage.

It's important to take the necessary steps to ensure you are not only qualified for a mortgage, but also receiving the best possible rate.

That’s why turning to a mortgage expert should always be your first step.

“It’s really important to talk to somebody, have your documentation analysed and help educate you as part of the process and find out what you can look for when you are looking for a home,” according to mortgage expert Grace Pontes.

Pontes has over 30 years of experience in the finance industry and has been in Kelowna for nearly 25.

While the process of finding a mortgage can seem daunting, taking the time to speak with a mortgage broker can ultimately alleviate some of that stress. Getting all your ducks in a row early can pay off, she said.

“It really helps take the stress out of the process for the clients because if there is something we need to work on in your credit profile, it gives us the time to do that – to make sure that we are presenting your application in the best possible light for the lender,” she explained.
