Take a look at Kelowna’s most expensive single family home

At over $13 million, this property set a new record

How many of us have paddled or boated on Okanagan Lake, looked up at the very exclusive homes above the shoreline and said: “I could own on of those.”

For most of us that’s a pipe dream, but not for one local businessman.

His recent purchase comes with a statistical landmark along with the privacy, exceptional design, and stunning views.

The 13,000 sq ft, 5-bedroom, 12-bathroom mansion at 6950 Lakeshore Road went for a cool $13.25 million, making it the most expensive residential property to change hands in the Okanagan.

“My client spent a lot of time boating around Okanagan Lake and it was always a dream of his to own this property,” sales consultant with Vantage West Realty, Simon Ward, told Kelowna10. “One of the best parts about [this sale] is helping him make this dream a reality for him and his family.”

As per the listing notes on the company’s website the home, dubbed Lakeside Luxe, is carved into the rocky hillside of Kelowna’s Okanagan Mountain.

It’s described as an engineering marvel, with an elevator, pool, and stunning Japanese-inspired hidden garden.

For AJ Hazzi, the founder of Vantage West Realty, it’s a significant milestone that his company was involved in this record sale.

“It’s a nice feather in our cap to have and it’s been darn near a decade since we sold a home of that calibre,” Hazzi said. “There aren’t many homes like this that change hands, so whenever you get a chance to work on either side of a transaction like this it’s a real source of pride.”

Named Home of the Year in 2019, the property has won three Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence.

“It’s the most opulent level of construction we’ve seen in the valley, it’s second to none,” Hazzi explained. “It took five years to create (in 2016), the building materials used, the level of finishings, and the thoughtfulness that went into it, it’s truly one of a kind.”

Part of the property’s attractions is the separate million-dollar boat house, situated along a dedicated driveway that meanders down to the dock. You access it in a golf cart. Oh, and there’s a separate garage for that too.
