Show will bring old time Hollywood jazz feel to the stage
The Kelowna International Fringe Festival is back, and Kelowna10 is swinging by local rehearsals to give you a glimpse of what to expect and decide what you might want to see.
The performance is an hour-long live jazz music show with songs done in the style of American jazz singer Peggy Lee. Led by Nicole Kraft and the rest of her ensemble, they look to bring Peggy’s style and music to life.
What is the inspiration behind the performance?
“My inspiration is the fabulous diva herself, Peggy Lee and how truly glamorous, fabulous, and talented she is,” Kraft said. “Her voice is beautiful and velvety and has written so many songs in an era where it was very difficult for women to get a foothold in the music industry, and she really did. I just love her personally.”
Why should people see it?
“If you love live music, if you love jazz, old Hollywood glamour, Peggy Lee, Lady and The Tramp, need I go on? There are many reasons to come out and see this show.”
