It's so much Better Together

Thursday is all about being Better Together.

That's the message behind the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) Foundation's third annual Better Together Day in support of JoeAnna’s House.

104.7 The Lizard and 103.1 Beach Radio are on site all day long sharing stories of those who’ve benefitted from the warm, homely, space.

Save-On-Foods were also in on the action with a drive-thru breakfast earlier.

JoeAnna’s House, on the corner of Royal Ave. and Abbott St., is a much-needed home away from home for families of out-of-town KGH patients.

Its presence takes a huge financial burden off of families at a stressful time when their focus is on a loved one getting treatment in hospital.

As the lead referral hospital for up to one million residents in the BC Interior, at any given time, one in four beds at KGH is occupied by someone outside the Central Okanagan.

As JoeAnna’s House relies solely on the continued generosity of the community to remain open, this day is all about celebrating that generosity.

Also, The Change Bandits from Sprott Shaw College will be out on Pandosy St. in front of the hospital throughout the day making some noise and accepting gifts from those who drive by.
