How to get the perfect beach wave hair and have it hold all day

The look appears effortless but achieving the perfect beach wave hairstyle takes a little technique!

Stylist, Audrey Wittmann, from Blank Canvas Hair Co., shares some tips on how to get the beach wave look and have it hold all day.

The trick is to start with the right products before you start curling.

A good styling cream and a heat protectant are important.

Start curling sections equal in width to your curling iron barrel.

Curl away from your face and add in a twist to help set the curl as it cools.

A secret to the beachy look is to leave that bottom inch of hair, uncurled.

Once you've curled your entire head use a volume or setting spray and then gentle brush out the curls. (Don't worry they will bounce back!)

You can finish with a smoothing serum or a little more volume spray at the root.

It's a great look that goes from day to night and with the right products, can even last a few days.
