How this diner is adding to Rutland’s growth

Rutland has a new spot for breakfast and lunch, although it may be familiar to those who've frequented Lake Country.

Norman’s Diner has officially opened its second location in the Central Okanagan, four years after debuting at Turtle Bay Crossing.

“More than anything with Norman's, what we try to keep special is our relationship with people,” owner Anne Stewart told Kelowna10. “My grandpa Norman was a people lover, interested in everybody, loved to talk and we embody that a little bit with the kind of service that we give.”

The second location is on the ground floor of the newly built Willow Park development in Rutland on Hollywood Road off of Highway 33.

“The other businesses that are coming in here are fantastic, I think we'll have really great neighbours in this commercial setting.” she said. “More housing close by will also be great. We're seeing a lot of that here in Rutland, that sort of growth. It's the first time I've been part of a mixed commercial residential development. So, we’ll see how it goes.”

Norman’s Diner has been a popular spot in Lake Country since opening in 2019 and she hopes that popularity will translate to their Rutland location.

Their menu provides a wide variety of classic breakfast foods and lunch options, all made with farm fresh local ingredients.

But she hopes the food won’t be the only draw of the restaurant.

“We just want to be a place that's welcoming and comfortable and casual and can feel a bit like a home away from home for people,” she said.
