How seniors find holiday families at this retirement residence

Celebrating the Yuletide spirit

In the heart of the Heritage Retirement Residence, a new kind of family gathers every Christmas.

It's a family born from shared experiences and communal living.

And for Gwen, who is on the cusp of 96, and spent decades travelling around North America with her first husband and surrounded by her family with the second, some of her best Christmas mornings have been at the residence.

Each holiday season, the residence transforms into a winter wonderland, with decorations adorning every corner.

On Christmas morning, an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie fills the bistro.

"That first Christmas, I came down and I looked around and I saw all these people sitting around Christmas morning, and I just went around and I gave every one of them a hug," she said.

Moving into a retirement residence can be a significant transition, requiring flexibility and open heartedness.

Yet, for those willing to embrace this change, Gwen said a new family awaits.

Book your tour at the Heritage Retirement Residence today, because once you live it, you'll love it!
