We’ve got a roundup of some of the best things to do in Kelowna, be it art exhibitions, theatre, restaurant openings, concerts, markets, and other to-dos to kick-back and enjoy the weekend.

Celebrate the holidays with arguably the best instrument

Christmas is approaching and what better way to mark the season then with carols played on dozens of tubas! Tuba Christmas is back, and a room full of tubas will be waiting for you this weekend!

Enjoy the beauty of Candy Cane Lane

Dozens of homes in the city continue to shine around the holidays as Candy Cane Lane is back for a 12th year. This year, 70 homes have decked the halls with extravagant lights and decorations.

Candy Cane Lane begins on Collison Road and runs up Gramiak and Mary.

Take part in a magical family adventure

New Vintage Theatre is presenting North Pole Stories. The 55-minute play, by Bonnie Gratz, sees Santa and Mrs. Claus gather with elves by the fire to celebrate the season and retell their favourite North Pole fairy tales.

When: Dec. 8 to 17

Cheer on the Kelowna Rockets

After a trip through America, the team is back at home on Friday, where they will face the Victoria Royals. The game is a highlight of the season, with the iconic Teddy Bear Toss set to fly at the first goal.

Social media is full of do-it-yourself videos ahead of the holidays. True crafters make the projects look easy, but are they as simple as they appear on social media? We wanted to find out, so Toby, from 103.1 Beach Radio, put the popular 'Pool Noodle Wreath' project to the test. Give the video a watch to see what she made!

Take in a classic holiday tale

Ebeneezer Scrooge is back in Kelowna, brought to life by the Kelowna Actors Studio. The rendition is based off the musical, which premiered in 1994 in New York City. The classic story centres around a greedy, selfish, curmudgeon old man who hates Christmas.

The Nutcracker

Kelowna’s original The Nutcracker is back for a 32nd year. This beloved holiday classic promises to espouse the wonder and magic of the holiday season. Presented by The Canadian School of Ballet and featuring Ballet Kelowna, the adventure will captivate audiences of all ages.

When: Dec. 9 to 11
