Here’s Kelowna’s latest approved high-rise tower

Another tall tower set for Kelowna skyline

Kelowna City Council has approved a development permit for a 40-storey mixed-use rental-only building at 1355 St. Paul St.

Most councillors gave the okay to the project, saying it conformed to the style and size allowed by the city.

The project will add to the city's expanding offering of densification and downtown high-rises and will include 384 rental units: 68 microsuites, 141 one-bedroom units, and 175 two-bedroom units.

The 40th level of the tower is proposed to be common indoor amenity space to allow all tenants of the building to enjoy the tallest views.

There will be 323 parking stalls in a podium design, not underground.

That’s very different to the much-troubled UBC Downtown Campus Tower excavation site directly next door that’s currently under construction. That large hole has caused ground movement and damage to nearby buildings.
