Here's Kelowna teen rockers’ Freeze the Fall's debut single

The kids keep turning heads

A debut single, first music video, and radio airplay all over town: not bad for the talented alt-rock trio, Freeze the Fall, two of whom haven’t even turned 16 yet.

The young band’s extraordinary launch onto the local music scene has taken a huge beat forward with the release of their highly anticipated debut single, Glitch.

The high schoolers: lead singer and guitarist Quinn, 16, drummer Jonah, 15, and bassist and vocalist Aria, 15, have been an item for 18 months but already sound like they’ve spent a whole career together.

“It’s really surreal,” Aria told Ryan and Sarah live on the morning show on 104.7 The Lizard. “It’s the first day [the single] is out and it’s already on three radio stations, so it’s really crazy for us because we’ve never been played anywhere before.”

The trio have already made their mark on Kelowna’s live stages and winning awards but to have radio play is something else.

“It’s crazy because it’s our first song ever, right?” Johan said. “We’re pretty young and putting music out like this is different, you don’t see that a lot.”

The single, Glitch was produced in Kelowna with Jordan Chase of Oodelally Recordings and features original art by Kevin Moore of Soft Surrogate.

Quinn explains the song is about being an empathetic and really sensitive person who takes on everyone else’s problems and feelings.

“Kind of wishing you were robotic, as it says in the chorus, so maybe you don’t have to deal with that as much,” she explained.

The band is just starting their extraordinary musical journey but clearly have some prominent influences as Ryan learned with come impromptu rapid fire questions:

Ryan: If you could open for one band who would it be?

Quinn: The Warning / Jonah: Spiritbox / Aria: Bring Me The Horizon

R: If you could add another member to the band (dead or alive) who would it be?

Q: Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) / J: Dave Grohl / A: Mike Stringer (Spiritbox)

R: If you could start a band outside the rock and metal genre, what would you play?

Q: Some weird folk genre/ J: Jazz / A: Jazz

Glitch is available on all streaming platforms.

The single’s release is accompanied by the premiere of their first music video, also produced locally by Two-Six Films Production, which can be seen on YouTube.
