Direct flights from major Prairie cities to Kelowna resume
WestJet is expanding domestic travel options across Canada, with increased frequencies and options to travel from coast-to-coast, and everywhere in between.
Among the new routes, WestJet has resumed flights between Kelowna and a few major Prairie cities.
“It’s no secret that Kelowna is very popular among Western Canadians,” WestJet Media Relations Madison Kruger told Kelowna10. “It’s an incredibly beautiful destination, it provides a great leisure spot for Canadians to get away.”
WestJet will fly non-stop between Kelowna and Regina twice a week starting May 21. It will also offer non-stop service between Kelowna and Saskatoon twice a week beginning Friday, June 2. It will fly non-stop three times a week between Kelowna and Winnipeg beginning on Friday, June 2.
This will increase its service to Kelowna by 12 per cent this summer compared to last year.
“It really signals our commitment and our belief that Canadians want to use this route,” she said. “Western Canada is our home and we’re always evaluating opportunities to support and bolster the tourism and travel economies in our Western Canadian communities.”
