Why not go red instead of green?
Traditionally, when you go out on St. Patrick's Day, you typically drink something green, right?
But what if this time, you have something red?
Big Ginger, from 103.1 Beach Radio, swung by BNA Brewing Co. to get a look at their specialty red ale, The Irish Kiss, made especially for St. Patrick’s Day.
Lead brewer for this beer, Lance Jacobs, told Big Ginger they wanted to make a red instead of a green beer for the unofficial holiday, putting their own take on a Kilkenny.
“I thought that was a great idea and I've always loved Kilkenny, so I wanted to do something similar, so this is it,” Jacobs said. “It's not so bitter, but its got a lot of caramel flavours. Good malt flavours."
The brew comes in at about 25 IBUs, and 4.9 per cent.
