Gorgeously grungy: Kelowna designer hits Vancouver Fashion Week

Look like a rock star!

Fran Emaly Botha's love for making exceptional custom clothes has been reignited, some twenty years after leaving the South African fashion industry.

The Kelowna designer has just launched her debut creations that are inspired by feminine grunge/rock of the 80/90’s. Botha imagines the outfits being worn by rock stars.

Her brand, Loose Cannon FEB, was featured at Vancouver Fashion Week last month.

The edgy, quirky collection explores the idea of "restraining oneself (for self-preservation)", as she puts it.

It’s a blend of thrifted textiles, blending structural elements like straps with soft, vibrant, feminine textiles.

Leslie, from OV Mornings on OV103.9, met up with Botha and had a chance to try on some of her amazing pieces.

Thanks to Match Eatery & Public House for letting us strut our stuff there for the Kelowna10 video!
